Jewish Roots of Christian Liturgy and Their Current Presence in the Practice of Particular Catholic Communities
Veselková Francová, Markéta ; Kotas, Jan (advisor) ; Tichý, Radek (referee)
The aim of the thesis Jewish Roots of Christian Liturgy and Their Current Presence in the Practice of Particular Catholic Communities is to map the current state of research about Jewish roots of Christian liturgy using the available literature as the basis and show on the specific example of two Catholic communities (Community of The Beatitudes and The Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew Speaking Catholics) how they experience these Jewish roots and how it manifests in their liturgical practice. The work is divided into two steps: In the first part, current knowledge about Jewish sources from which the Christian liturgy drew and draws is summarized. The most important elements, types and forms of Jewish prayers are described, and then it is described which parts of the Christian liturgy are based on which types and forms of prayers. In the second part, the history of the establishment of the Beatitudes Community and the Hebrew Parish is described and their liturgical practice is analyzed with a focus on their motivations for emphasis of the Jewish roots, the development of this practice and its specifics, and their relation to the original historical basis points. The conclusion represents a reflection on the more general benefit of the practice of these two communities and the benefit of knowledge...
Underground on the hill? Interfaces and differences between the underground and the Hanspaul movement
Melichar, Dominik
The underground, especially the music scene is a relatively closed community connected mainly with the names of Ivan Martin Jirous, Egon Bondy and the The Plastic People of the Universe band, to which a whole range of activities of other individuals and groups scattered all over the country are connected. The Hanspaulka movement, which dates its beginnings to 1966, peaked in the late 1970s and gradually declined in the mid-1980s, has not yet been thought of in connection with the underground. The aim of these reflections was to point out the connections, but also the differences, between the two communities and thus point out the problematic nature of isolating the underground movement from a much wider environment of other unofficial and non-state-controlled activities.
Dance with a Million Knots. A return to craft techniques and artistic work with textiles in the context of contemporary artistic practice
Gryboś, Julia ; Klodová, Lenka (referee) ; Janečková,, Zuzana (referee) ; Rathouský, Luděk (advisor)
Dissertation entitled Dance with a Million Knots. A return to craft techniques and artistic work with textiles in the context of contemporary artistic practice maps the tendency of the return to craft techniques and handwork in the field of contemporary art. The tendency is reflected in the text through the definition of its relevant terms, examples of several domestic and international exhibition projects, the handwork-oriented practice of contemporary artists, and through a reflection on my own artistic practice. Following the assumption that the process of production and creation itself is now more central to artistic concerns, the dissertation asks for the causes and reasons for this turn, while also anchoring it in a broader social context. The reflection on the topic is presented in the thesis through an experience formulated from the position of a long-standing collaborative artistic practice with Barbora Zentkova, offering an associative reflection on the form and scope of the tendency in contemporary art, as well as on its possible sources and causes.
Complex logistical support of civil protection in chosen communities
ZEZULOVÁ, Martina
The subject of this diploma thesis is complex logistical support of civil protection in chosen communities. The utmost importance of civil protection is obvious in light of recent crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, flat in western Germany, or a tornado in South Moravia. This thesis is focused on the logistic system which was designed to reduce the negative impact of emergencies. The thesis aimed to describe the logistic of citizen protection in Brno and chosen municipalities in the Brno-venkov district. Part of this work was to evaluate the sufficiency of logistical support given the latest emergencies and those that can come in the future. The research is based on two surveys. The first questioner was designed for crisis managers of individual city districts and all municipalities with extended powers in the Brno-venkov district. The second questionnaire focused on the knowledge of the general public regarding self-protection in emergencies and crises. This study shows that logistical support of civil defense differs in individual municipalities and city districts. The collected data emphasize differences in civil protection powers between municipalities with extended powers and city districts. Data also shows various experiences of individual crisis managers. That said this study illustrates an efficient system of civil protection logistical support adjusted to the local needs. Results of the survey for the general public shows crisis awareness has increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, according to the majority of respondents and results of the questionnaire, the public's general knowledge about this subject is insufficient. This thesis could serve to crisis management authorities as a comparison of logistical support of the civil defense in chosen municipalities with extended powers and city districts. In the meantime, this thesis could be used in educational institutions as a foundation for raising awareness about safety measures during emergencies.

The effect of the different grazing systems and different management of three pastures on the spider communities was studied in the submontane area.
Moths as nocturnal pollinators in the tropics
Barták, Michal ; Tropek, Robert (advisor) ; Sedláček, Ondřej (referee)
in English In this thesis, I reviewed the available knowledge on the role of moths in the pollination of flowering plants in tropical ecosystems. Moths appeared as relatively frequent visitors of flowers with moth-attracting adaptations. Moths were proved to be essential pollinators of some specialized plant species. An obligatory mutualism with micromoths was found in more than 550 highly specialized plant species. Macromoths appeared as effective pollinators of numerous tropical shrubs, trees, and herbs from numerous plant families. Moths were the only recorded visitors and/or pollinators in several cases. In communities, plant species with moth pollination syndromes were relatively uncommon, and moths were generally infrequent visitors of their flowers, which could also be affected by abiotic factors. The proportion of actually moth-pollinated plant species in communities was even slightly lower than the proportion of plants with moth pollination syndromes in other areas. Some moths (e.g., hawkmoths) can thieve nectar from virtually any shorter-spurred/tubed flowers with their long proboscis. Other moths were reported as nectar thieves in some too accessible flowers. However, moths were reported to be rare nectar thieves and prefer visiting the flowers they also pollinate. This thesis should...
Europeanisation of political system of a federal state: the case of Belgium
Pluhařová, Jana ; Drulák, Petr (advisor) ; Kasáková, Zuzana (referee)
The Master thesis "The Europeanization of a political system of a federal state: the case of Belgium" investigates the Europeanization effect on a federal polity in Belgium. It discusses the relations between the federal government and the federated entities in Belgium. It addresses two questions. Firstly, what is the impact of European integration on the relations between the federal government and the federated entities in Belgium and secondly, does European integration strengthen or rather weaken the role of federal government towards regions and communities. In particular, it argues that the combination of two parallel processes - on the one hand, the deepening of European integration and on the other hand, the domestic devolution of powers in Belgium - resulted in a situation where the position of the federal government is strengthened despite the constant pressure of federated units on decentralization. Using Germany and Austria as typical cases of federations to compare, the thesis assumes that Belgium is an exceptional case of federation. While in Austria and Germany the European integration consolidates the existing relations between federal government and federated entities, in Belgium it completely changes them. It also argues that European integration shapes the dual nature of Belgian...
Changes in ladybird communities along an altitudinal gradient
Matušová, Martina ; Kindlmann, Pavel (advisor) ; Martínková, Zdenka (referee)
Ladybugs are often used in biological control, because of their predatory way of life and potential ability to control many insect pests. So far, a number of studies was performed on this family, on their hunting strategies, other life history strategies, population dynamics, dependence of their distribution in time and space on the abundance of prey etc. However, the temporal changes in species composition and relative or absolute abundance of ladybugs were not yet examined along an altitudinal gradient. This is why I have focused my work on these dependencies. I tested the following hypothesis: overwintering sites in Coccinellidae are usually located at lower altitudes, where the individuals eventually attack their prey on the earliest budding trees; as season goes on, ladybugs follow the trends in environmental conditions and food and move to higher located sites; at the end of the season, ladybugs return back to their overwintering sites. In the research area in the Beskydy Mountains, 12 experimental sites were selected, evenly spaced along an elevational gradient of 350-482 m above sea level at each location. During the season, 12 measurements at two-week intervals were performed, each containing 2x300 sweeps. A total of 3064 of ladybug individuals were collected, belonging to 11 species. The...
Role of arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis and composition of arbuscular mycorrhizal communities among plants from different functional groups
Novák, Václav ; Kohout, Petr (advisor) ; Kolaříková, Zuzana (referee)
Arbuscular mycorrhiza is a type of mutualistic symbiosis between most plant species and fungi from the phylum Glomeromycota. Both partners exchange nutrients. The fungus provides inorganic substances especially phosphorus and receives the products of photosynthesis from the plant. Mycorrhiza also affects plant growth and resistance against pathogens. The composition of AM fungi community is, apart from abiotic factors, also driven by the host plant traits such as photosynthetic type, growth form, life cycle, CSR strategy, N-fixation or mycorrhizal status. The role of mycorrhizae also differs among different plant functional types. This thesis describes the differences in composition and diversity of AM fungal communities among plants with different ecophysiological traits and summarizes the role of mycorrhiza for different plant functional types.
Složení společenstev larválních stádií motolic (Digenea) u vybraných zástupců plicnatých plžů čeledi Planorbidae
VYHLÍDALOVÁ, Tereza
In the present study the species diversity, seasonal dynamics, composition of larval trematode communities and factors influencing their structure were studied in two species of planorbid gastropods (Gyraulus albus and Segmentina nitida) in typical eutrophic fishponds in South Bohemia, Czech Republic. The study significantly contributed to the present knowledge about the fauna of trematodes in small planorbids, provided evidence for validity of general rules affecting trematode community composition and structure and demonstrated the underestimated role of both snail species as first intermediate hosts for trematodes in the past.
